Troy Food Pantry

The Troy Area Food Pantry is located at 532 Elmira Street in Troy (directly across from the Citgo Pump ‘N Pantry) and is open every Thursday from 11:30am to 2:00pm. Eligible people/families can stop in Once per month and must bring proof of address that you reside in the Troy School District. To learn more about eligibly, please call (570) 297-4269.

Gillett Senior Center

All men and women age 50 and over are invited for Fellowship, lunch conversation, fun, special programs, crafts, bingo, movies, music, and more. The center is open Thursdays 9am – 2pm, lunch is served at Noon. Meeting at the South Creek Community Center (the old school) behind the Post Office in Gillett. FMI call 570-596-2034 or 570-732-3567. Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based group that meets on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm at the New Life Church in Canton, Pa. This program is designed to help you with any areas within your life that are separating you from freedom, peace, and recovery. From addiction to other areas you are currently struggling with, you are not alone.

Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development “What’s Next” Event

The Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission is putting on the event, “What’s Next?” on Wednesday, May 1st. The event will take place at the Athens Area High School gymnasium from 5:30pm – 7:00pm. All Bradford County high school seniors, recent high school grads, and/or those who did not finish secondary or post-secondary education and do not have a plan past high school are invited. Attendees will be provided with information regarding county resources available to help support them in figuring out “what’s next”.

East Canton Church Pancake Supper

The East Canton Church will be holding a Pancake Supper from 4pm – 7pm on Thursday, May 2nd. Menu will include: pancakes, sausage, eggs, applesauce, and an assortment of drinks. Cost is $8/adults, $5/children ages 5-12, and children 4 and under eat free. Proceeds raised will be used towards the church roof replacement project.

Drive-Thru Prescription Drug Take-Back Event

There will be a drive-thru prescription drug take-back event at the Bradford County Public Safety Center in Towanda on Saturday, May 4th from 11:00am to 3:00pm. A Narcan clinic will also be available. For more information, call 570-265-5022.

Kentucky Derby Watch Party

The Troy Vets Club will be hosting a Kentucky Derby Watch Party starting at 5:00pm on Saturday, May 4th. There will be food specials all day, a hat contest, and other fun raffles. The event is open to the public and sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary.

Mainesburg United Methodist Church Spaghetti Dinner

The Mainesburg United Methodist Church will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on Saturday, May 4th. Menu includes spaghetti with homemade meatballs, Italian bread, salad, and dessert. Cost is $10/adults, $5/children ages 5-12, children under 5 eat free.

Community Music Recital

There will be a Community Music Recital at the First Presbyterian Church of Troy on Sunday, May 5th. This recital will feature local musicians and students from the Troy and Canton areas. This performance will be free and open to the public starting at 4:00pm.

Sullivan County High School Cheerleaders Fundraiser

The Sullivan County High School Cheerleads will be holding a Car Wash Fundraiser at Pealer Hall in Dushroe from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, May 18th. They will also be doing a bake sale at the event. All proceeds will be used for the Cheerleaders summer camp funds.
